Meet MarTelo

Read the story of MarTelo pipes, a tobacco pipe artisan based in Brazil.

About marTelo.

marTelo pipes are made by Gustavo Cunha. He grew up in a small village in Brazil, where nature, beautiful landscapes, and a vibrant culture are present. In his observation of his home’s architecture, Gustavo became enchanted by wood – which would later become his favorite material to work with.

He went on to work for a modernist Brazilian furniture maker, which granted him access to all of the fabrication machinery used to make tobacco pipes. After visiting Tom Eltang, Gustavo purchased his own equipment and began his pipe making career.
